Newspaper is moderately wadded and placed into the outer carton as bottom nesting that will compress when the guitar & case's inner carton weight is worked down onto this bottom nesting.
Guitar & cases inner carton shown before being worked down upon the bottom nesting.
Side nesting is placed and hand compressed moderately.  Top nesting shown here placed on top.  Top nesting compression will be hand workd as lid is taped down.
Lid closed and taped down.  Gorilla tape strips reinforce the hinge & rear batton's joint where it's glued to the rear of the bottom portion of outer carton.  Packing tape is put over Gorilla tape to prevent it's sticky edges from getting caught in conveying machines enroute.
All joints and edges are reinforced with packing tape;  Carton is marked so the guitar & case will travel butt down and not have any other larger boxes placed upon it.  Labels will go onto this top-side-up here.

NOTE:  I make my cartons from previously used bicycle cartons in the interest of recycling.  I PLACE PACKING TAPE OVER ANY MARKS IN THE CARDBOARD;  This will distinguish between any dents or penetrations by shippers.  These pictures also document the carton and it's packing prior to shipping, ....for the purpose of the rare event of an insurance claim, or if customs wants to know what's in the package (electronic circuits spooked customs agents for awhile but seems to be settling down now), and Customs can actually be shown the content via these packing webpages which would coincide with their x-ray views;  And pictures on a website calms any of their fears that might arise about impropriety of contents.

Placing mailing labels and customs forms is all that is left to get this off to the post office !

This guitar has been an absolute joy to be able to get right.
