Silvertone Danelectro 1449 in Very rare original BLACK!

Note: A Black "1457" with a 1449 pickguard, is a 1449.
The amp-in-case is nomenclatured as model 1449,
and is otherwise virtually the same amp as the 1457.
PREVIOUS OWNER REPORTS: '63 Silvertone 2 pickup guitar and amp-in-case set in excellent condition. Model #1457. Made by Danelectro for Sears and Roebuck. This is the more desirable 2 lipstick pickup model, with an amp in the case that features tremelo as well as volume and tone. As seen in the following photos, this outfit is in really clean condition. Everything is stock and works flawlessly. The all-tube amp sounds great and is virtually free of any hum. Features original Silvertone tubes and stock Jensen speaker. Of course those lipstick pickups put out that fabulous tone. The guitar itself has hardly any scratches or dings to report; suggesting that it has seen little use. Neck is straight and feels excellent. Frets are nice and the instrument has just been restrung. Guitar also features stacked volume and tone controls for each pickup as well as a 3-way pickup selector. The case is very clean and shows minor wear only on the corners. One of the nicer all-original outfits you'll see.
DENNY'S NOTE: The very rare model 1449 was a transitional model between the 1448 and 1457. It was made in 1962 and 1963. It is nearly the same as a 1457 with the exception of a different pickguard and black paint instead of the 1457's carnival sparkle sunburst paint scheme. It was intended to be the step up from the 1448, but Danelectro and Sears marketing design decided the 1457 served that purpose better with it's slightly more "modern look", so the 1449 was discontinued and gave way to the 1457 which came on the scene in 1963.
This guitar and amp-case is in excellent original condition.
