Although the archival book Acid and Fuzz states that Nothing Ever Comes Easy is a "rather lame ballad" and Oriental Express an "upbeat instrumental rocker"; It should be recognized that this recording is a most valuable example of not only The Outcasts first professional beginings and first recording studio experience, ... It is also an example of the first solo productions of Mike Post's talented, phoenominal and prolific career. It is certainly far from lame for 4 kids whose average age was only 17 ... and rather commendable that Mike could get this much music from those kids. It should also be mentioned that both of these songs remained 2 of the most requested songs in The Outcasts' repertoire. |
