Yours Truly. In my room (hootch) at our home base at Dong Ba Thin.  The black market allowed us to acquire air conditioners and refrigerators in our hootches .... and even T-Bone steaks rather regularly.  The Teac reel-to-reel tape recorder in the top right corner was a common private purchase at the PX.  Pictured here is my 10th year in the lifelong search for "R" chord.  The dark round spot above the lone elbow and a little above my eye level is a .38 revolver bullet hole, ... put there by one of our fellow pilots in another room demonstrating how sure he was that his pistol was empty, to other pilots telling him to put the damn thing away.

The beautiful lady's picture on the wall is a portrait I painted of an old Friend I met again out of the blue on Waikiki Beach, the very first day on combat-vacation (R&R) in Hawaii, where her father was a high ranking Officer in the Air Force.  I've enjoyed the Arts since I was a toddler, ....and after such a pure heavenly vaction,  I just had to paint the picture from a wallet photo and hang it on my hooch wall, alongside my psychedelic FTW
(Fuck This War) poster.

A cigarette, Dad's root beer, music to play along to, a guitar, and a gorgeous lady looking over yer shoulder; .....It don't get much better than that .....when yer brains might get splattered all over a Brother or two the next day.  Yep, ......FTW.
