In keeping with Industry Standards for vintage guitars;  I do not clean them unless a Buyer desires that I do;  And I am delighted to expertly do so;  The Industry Standard to "not touch" a vintage instrument is to keep unqualified Folks from ruining a vintage instrument.  This Steel will clean up wonderfully.
The handrest / pickup-cover is spring loaded toward the down position and an easy lift up;  MUCH handier than the Gibson BR6 this Steel is obviously made to compete with, ....especially during strings changes.  The cover can be easily removed with 2 screws should a Player desire that for hand blocking picking technique.
This Steel looks as remarkably good in real life as it does in these photos.

The fretboard, pickguard and hand cover are red-copper vacuum molded "plexiglas".  Beautiful.
Originally white laquer;  The white has aged to a classic butterscoth blonde.
