Your can bet that answering your inquiries is very important to me;  But please keep in mind that my shop is small and I take great pride and pleasure in excellent personal service and my reputation for same.  I take very few orders-and/or-work at any given time so that I can provide that personal attention and service;  So I sometimes cannot answer inquiries immediately but will answer them usually within several days ....unless my workload or other unanticipated matters slow down the time I have to reply to new inquiries.

20% DEPOSIT "LAY-AWAY" HOLDS:

I will be happy to hold any item for a Customer for 30 days from the date of paying a 20% deposit.  The item will not be sold to anyone else during that hold period. The deposit will be credited to a purchase if the purchase is paid in full within the 30 day hold period.  If the balance owed is not paid in full by the end of the 30 day hold period, then the deposit becomes non-refundable and forfeited at midnight of the 30th day.  I could not hold things for Folks without this policy.

I ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING PAYMENT METHODS:

1.  Payment from the USA = By Pay Pal, or by United States Postal Service Money Order.
2.  Payment from Canada = By Pay Pal, or by INTERNATIONAL Postal Money Order.
3.  Payment from outside USA and Canada = Only by Pay Pal or by cash in U.S. Dollars (usd).

Items paid by Pay Pal can be shipped only to the address listed on that Pay Pal account.

PACKING, SHIPPING AND INSURANCE:

All shipments are professionally packed very well. (See my homepage guestbook for references).

I actively process (pull, unpack, inpsect, re-pack and ship) only 2 orders at a time, with remaining orders waiting in line in the order of which they were paid for or a 20% deposit placed.  Packing and shipping is usually accomplished within 3 to 5 days of becoming actively processed.

Shipping to USA and Canada is by your choice of USPS, or UPS or FedEx.

Shipping to Europe is by USPS Express Mail (for best economical and time enroute reasons);   Unless a Buyer desires to pay the VERY high rates of UPS and FedEx.

ROUGH SHIPPING ESTIMATES FOR GUITARS:

Shipping a guitar, insured, with receipt documentation, via USPS from Hawaii to ANYWHERE in the USA, is approximately $60 Express Mail (2 days enroute) and approximately $65 Priority Mail (usually 5-7 days enroute).  Parcel Post class is approximately $50 (usually around 10 to 15 days enroute, ...but can take 3-5 weeks enroute, depending upon how badly our Nazi white house is scaring the system they now control).  Shipping via USPS from Hawaii to ANYWHERE in the USA (outside of Hawaii) is the Zone 8 rate for each class of shipment (Express, Priority or Parcel).  Under USPS rates effective May of 2007, Express Mail is now slightly cheaper than Priority Mail for most guitars shipped in rectangular packages (USPS now charges an extra nominal fee for irregular shaped packages).

I will be delighted to calculate shipping costs for you based upon the Shipping Carrier and Class of your choice or for all Carriers and Classes for you to choose from.  But as much as I wish I still could, I can no longer afford to do so at no charge for "tire-kickers", so I am now charging a $20 fee for calculating shipping when the fee is paid;  And I credit / deduct the fee from the purchase price.  BUT CALCULATING SHIPPING IS QUITE EASY USING THE ONLINE CALCULATORS LINKED-TO BELOW,  ...although it will take about an hour to calculate shipping for all Carriers and Classes to choose from.

I charge actual shipping costs, ...plus paper and electronic delivery confirmation receipts (approx $3 - $5 extra depending on the class of shipment and carrier you desire).  Electronic delivery receipt will alert both of us in the rare event a mis-delivery occurs.  Paper delivery receipt will prove to the carrier that you did OR DID NOT receive your shipment).

I highly recommend USPS as a shipping carrier.  They are by far the least expensive, ...and under their rate schedule changes June 2007, Express Mail (2 - 3 days delivery time) is often less expensive than Priority Mail:

(1) INSURANCE: If you do not inform me whether or not you desire the shipping carrier's insurance, I will elect to include insurance & it's carrier's small fee for insurance in your order.

(2) I cannot / will-not be responsible / liable for any damage or loss once a shipment is turned over to the shipping carrier.  Although, I will most-reasonably assist a Buyer in such claims.

ANY WARRANTY / GUARANTEE I MIGHT PROVIDE DOES NOT COVER SHIPPING DAMAGE.

OPTIONAL Cleaning and Repair of Instruments:

A Buyer must inform me if they desire a purchased instrument to be cleaned or repaired.  Industry standard is for vintage instruments to not be touched by Seller ...and many Buyers are rather adamant about a vintage guitar to not even be cleaned.  (This is a good standard;  It keeps Sellers who don't know what they are doing from damaging an instrument).  I am expert at cleaning and repairs.  Cleaning would delay packing / shipment by up to 7 days depending upon how much work is involved (usually a good cleaning requires full or partial disassembly and reassembly of the instrument), and of course any repairs vary too widely to state an amount of time to expect.
