Poor repair of a crack in the pickguard.  See the 'Issues' page for instructions and before & after examples of such a crack repair.
This common scrub mark is from rubbing against the inside of the amp-case; A very common signature mark of ST1400 series Silvertone Danelectros.  It will clean up quite easily (see the 'Issues' page for instructions and before & after examples).  Many 1400's are rubbed through the vinyl side-tape to bare wood !
The vinyl side binding tape is quite dirty as many 1400 series Danelectros were due to their fabric texture;  But will clean up well;  See the 'Issues' page for instructions and before & after examples.

All but a very few items that need replacement or repair;  This 1448 set would be in Excellent condition once cleaned up, ...and refurbished if desired or left with it's history of marks over it's lifetime.

See info on the 'Issues' page about repairing these pickguards that are often broken just like this one.  I have original replacement 1Meg tone pots, although non-original pots work just as well and cost about 1/8 of what an original does.

A gouge where someone didn't secure the bridge while the strings were off and the bridge pivoted and scraped the paint off.  Easily repaired (if desired) by using a small artist brush to fill the gouge with coats of model airplane enamel, leaving a slight dome to compound down flat and sheen to match the guitar's finish.  Toothpaste slightly thinned with water is a great working / polishing compound.  ~~~~~~~  The tone pot knob was secured by tape and the rear pickup screw, ...surely so the knob won't get lost.

Someone poorly set the nut in the past (it's slightly tilted), probably not knowing how to set up a guitar for their action desires.

Fix:  Simply loosen the strings, remove the screw, remove the nut, clean the nut slot, place a round toothpick in the screwhole and break it off flush to refresh the hole, and put it back together.
