1960's Silvertone Kawai Teisco
"mosrite" styling

A jagged samurai sword of raw raucus tone;  Just listen to Houndog Taylor !

PREVIOUS OWNER SAYS:  An early 1960's Silvertone Mosrite with slider controls. Interesting because it as an individual slider volume for each pickup, so you can dial in an unlimited variety of tones." Look  here  (Row 13, Column 2) There is another opinion: this is old Teisco.
Three pickup electric guitar with 3 switches for multiple pickup combinations. (Mosrite)-like body with tremolo and fat headstock. Sorry, no logo.  -------  Description: The guitar is in fine playing condition and has a very raw sound.  3 single-coil pickups, all have their own quality. No original handle for the tremelo. One little "hole" on the back. It is a very beautiful guitar and an odd one at that. A joy to play. Everything just in excellent condition.

1 of 4 tailpiece mounting screws is missing.
Replaced with a same screw.
Wrong pickup height adjustment screw.
Replaced with a same Teisco screw.
Pickup pole-piece screw missing. Replaced with a similar Teisco pole piece screw.
Vibrato spring missing (It's Bigsby type).
Found on a donor Teisco along with vibrato arm.  Am fabricating bolt, washers and nut assembly to install.
Bridge elevation thumbwheels were missing.  Replaced with original NOS parts.  I had 3 exact NOS bridges in my parts supply !
BACK OF GUITAR:

Back of guitar has clear-coat surface scratches from someone in the past unsing a buffer improperly;  Seen it many times before;  Not penetrating thru to paint finish.  Can be compounded out if desired; Toothpaste slightly thinned with water is an excellent innocuous compound.  NEVER allow an electric buffer to heat finish;  What's being buffed will ball-up with the compound and make swirl scratches in topcoat.
I have removed vibrato top plate and tailpiece bottom plate, to match-up the vibrato spring's size, seating and throw.  I will also fabricate the missing vibrato arm screw to fit friction thumb nut cap;  Much easier to do now while it's unstrung than you have to do it later.
---------------
Pickups height, slant and pole pieces are not set up properly;  I normally do that anyway as part of final set up.
---------------
See other pic pages linked at bottom of this page.
---------------
These have been quite minor stuff, everything else looks fine so far.

Neck micro-set screw and cuff is missing.  See subsequent pages pictures.
It's not a neccessary item but will try to replace with Fender style if it fits hole.  If it doesn't fit hole I will ship with guitar for comparison for proper hole size cleated sleeve and set screw;  A common hardware store item.
