Electronics:
Pickup is mounted to the loaded pickguard via 1 machine screw and bolt.  The pickup mount is secured by and additional wood screw on the other ear of the pickup bezel ear, and by the pickguard being screwed down to the body.  The correct pots configuration:  Fore pot is tone; Aft pot volume !

The electronics body routing:
The body cavity has an open channel to provide clearance for the pickup lead wire .
The pickup number is U82864.  The 64 signifies made in 1964, which matches the pots codes.  The brown color is ferrous edy current tracks.
Pot codes = CTS company, 15th and 25th weeks of 1964.  The other number is a CTS model / part number.

Volume
The tone pot wiring variably filters high freqs to ground.  The volume pot wiring variably grounds out the pickup.
