"E-bubba" also oiled the neck nut screws so they were also corroded out, broken off inside the neck and needed to be removed and that surgery's holes repaired.
Convcave recesses were left in the top of the filler to receive layers of black, white pearl and clear acrylic fingernail polish to build up a finish that will replicate and match up with the surrounding MOTS.
Holes must be dug out around the corroded-through screws deep enough to get a turning-out grip on what remains of the screws shafts:
The edges of the filler cap are then sanded level with the MOTS, which will act as a cup to receive the finish repair and act as a gauge to know when the old and new finish are level with each other. A clear laquer topcoat will be sprayed on in multiple layers of mist to prevent too much laquer from melting the MOTS.
The area around the 3rd string's ferrule is also prepped to receive the same MOTS touch-up treatment. The logo will also be touched up with a fine artist brush and high quality sign enamels.
